Modern & geometric handmade copper earrings with a boho, organic vibe! Fold-formed and very unique!

These contemporary organic copper statement earrings are bold but yet incredibly lightweight. Handmade, they have a boho vibe to them and feature hand forged sterling silver ear wires.

I made these by starting with a piece of bare copper sheet metal. Cut into circles, that metal was repeatedly annealed (meaning softened with a torch to the point of being pliable) and then folded tightly, and opened up and unfolded and gently hammered flat, and then annealed again and then folded tightly, and opened up and unfolded and gently hammered flat a second and third time...then gently manipulated into it's pleasing organic domed shape. This technique is called fold forming. The two sets of components are connected with a sterling silver u-shaped wire that I formed by hand. The ends are "balled" with a torch to create a pretty and also very secure connection.

These earrings are as contemporary as they are rugged due to their gorgeous fold-formed texture and patina. They certainly are fun, lightweight, easy to wear and sure to bring lots of complements! . Handmade sterling silver ear wires are long and slender, providing security and complementing the design nicely. These earrings are entirely made by hand by me in my studio.

The earrings measure 2 7/8" from top to bottom and 1" in width. These earrings have both great texture and movement, two design features I feel strongly about incorporating into my work.
