Copper organic one-of-a-kind fold-formed necklace. Adjustable length, rich colors.

Truly one-of-a-kind, this pendant was created with the techniques of fold-forming and flame painting. Rich and luscious shades of red, brown, bronze and copper are gorgeous! I created this by starting with a piece of bare copper sheet metal. Cut into a square, texture was added by rolling it through my rolling mill with a texture plate. That textured piece of square metal is then repeatedly annealed (meaning softened with a torch to the point of being pliable) and then folded tightly, and opened up and unfolded and gently hammered flat, and then annealed again and then folded tightly, and opened up and unfolded and gently hammered flat a second and third time...then gently manipulated into it's pleasing organic shape. This technique is called fold forming.

The overall colors are rich and luscious. They are achieved with a combination of a torch, the technique is called a heat patina, as well as a specially formulated patina which was added to accentuate the golden and bronze colors and highlight some of the lines and curves within this design. This pendant is entirely made by hand by me in my studio. The pendant measures 2 1/2 inches long and 1 1/2 inches across. It hangs from a 19 inch chain necklace that can be sized anywhere from 17 to 19 inches due to a series of loops into which you can put the lobster claw clasp. Perfect for a variety of necklines!
