About DianaHDesigns

DianaHDesigns is the work of jewelry designer Diana Hirschhorn, whose pieces explore the intersection of sculpture, architecture, and wearable art. Each design reflects a balance between structure and movement, resulting in bold yet lightweight forms intended to be both seen and worn.

With an early foundation in fashion design from Cornell University, followed by a career as a retail buyer, Diana developed a strong understanding of form, proportion, and how design interacts with the body. Her later work in real estate deepened an appreciation for architectural structure and spatial relationships—an influence that continues to shape her approach today.

At the core of her work is an ongoing exploration of how materials, texture, and movement come together to create pieces that feel both intentional and expressive. Each design is approached not simply as jewelry, but as a small-scale sculptural object meant to be worn.

Each piece is created by hand using a wide range of materials and techniques, including sterling silver, steel, gold accents, enamel, and glass. Surface treatments such as reticulation, oxidation, and layering are used to build depth and visual complexity. Most designs are one-of-a-kind, with select small-batch pieces that maintain the same aesthetic approach. While bold in presence, the work is carefully constructed to remain lightweight and comfortable to wear.

All work is created in her Frederick, Maryland studio, where each piece begins as an exploration of form, texture, and movement.

I’ve always believed earrings are an essential part of getting dressed. I may not always put on a bracelet or a necklace, but I almost always wear a pair of earrings—whether I’m heading to the gym, taking a walk or a hike, playing pickleball, or spending time with friends and family—all things I love, right alongside the time I spend in my studio.
